ABCOPAD Foundation
Engage Locally - Disciple Globally - Give Generously
Since 1972, the American Baptist Churches of Pennsylvania and Delaware have shared together in presenting a witness for Jesus Christ. Though ministry styles have changed over the past 50 years, the focus and desire to share Jesus with others have not changed.
Many have gone before us, leaving their legacy of service and gifts that we might continue to serve today. Now, we need to plan for those who will come behind us. We need to be found faithful in leaving footprints for future generations that will encourage them to believe and inspire them for ministry tomorrow.
THE HARVEST ENDOWMENT was established to support the vision of the American Baptist Churches of Pennsylvania and Delaware (ABCOPAD) by providing current financial resources for our regional partners today while securing long-term assets for their future.
When you give to ABCOPAD, you are partnering with us to build healthy and vital partnerships with our pastoral leaders, local congregations, and our American Baptist family worldwide.
-
ENGAGE LOCALLY
We engage ‘locally’ with pastoral leaders and congregations to provide encouragement and resources to strengthen their ministry.
-
DISCIPLE GLOBALLY
We disciple ‘globally’ with missionaries around the world to support their work and physically serve with them as the hands and feet of Jesus.
-
GIVE GENEROUSLY
We give ‘generously’ when we join with other believers to do God’s work. We increase Christian unity and help the kingdom grow.
Your gifts help to transform lives and congregations…

How do you use Your Required Minimum Disribution (RMD) to Support ABCOPAD?
If you are age 72 or older, the IRS rules require that you take a Required Minimum Distribiution (RMD) each year from your tax-deferred retirement account (such as your IRA, 401-k, 403-b, and 457-b). Even though you aren't required to take your RMD, you might choose to take advantage of another IRS rule that allows you to direct your RMD to charity, and avoid paying ordinary income tax on that RMD withdrawal.
If you would like to take advantage of a QCD, here are the rules:
You must be at least 70½ years of age when you request the QCD.
The QCD must come out of your IRA by the RMD deadline, which is usually December 31.
Funds must be transferred directly from your IRA custodian to the qualified charity. If the custodian is issuing the check, the check must be payable to the charity. You may have the check sent to the charity, or you may deliver the check yourself.
